The national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will now hold upon the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently on medical vacation in the UK.
APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun disclosed this during a media parley, Monday in Abuja.
The national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier anticipated to since April, has now been out off indefinitely until the return of President Muhammadu Buhari from his medical vacation in the UK.
National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, disclosed this Monday in Abuja, while briefing news men on the 2year scorecard of the APC government.
“The convention is an important activity of the party that the president should not miss. We will hold on so that he can be part of the convention,” the APC Chairman said.
Oyegun also disclosed that the party's candidate for the 2019 presidential election was not yet a priority as the party will allow President Buhari decide on whether or not he will see re-election.
He said that "...it is for him to decide if he wants to run or if he doesn’t want to run and to consult the party on his decision. If he wants to run good and if he doesn’t want to run the country isn’t bereft, the party isn’t bereft of capable hands."
On the party's performance in the last two years in government, Oyegun insisted that President Buhari had done well, especially against the backdrop of the challenges he inherited from the past PDP government.
