Alleged N96bn Fraud: Amaechi's Appeal Disolved By Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Friday 27th May 2022, has dismissed an appeal filed by the ex Rivers state Governor, immediate past Minister of Transportation, and presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, after losing at the High Court of River and Court of Appeal.

The suit revealed the ex-governor has prayed the apex court to restrain the Present River state government under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike from probing him over the alleged ninety-six (96) billion naira fraud and fraudulent sales of valued assets belonging to the State government.

A seven-man panel constituted by Wike to probe Amaechi is being led by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, which has scheduled the date for judgment after various counsel in the case had made the final submissions.

The Apex court has unanimously agreed upon and dismissed Amaechi's appeal for lacking merit.
