Fresh trouble has emerged for the Kano Monarch, Muhammadu Sanusi II as the state Anti-graft agency has invited him to appear before it to answer the allegation of misappropriation levelled against him.

The Kano Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission have threatened that the embattled monarch must appear before it to clear his name within the next 24hrs, the ultimatum which will elapse today 5th March 2020.

The former CBN governor turned monarch is to answer the questions to clear his name over petition levelled against him for misappropriation the sum of N3.4 billion by the Kano Emirate council under his supervision.

The Emir is yet to make a public comment about the invitation, but a source privy to the palace confided that a letter was actually dispatched to the monarch inviting him for questioning by the anti-graft.

DailyPost reported that when the source was asked whether the Emir will honour the invitation, he said, “that I may not confirm to you, but you know that Emir Sanusi is a law-abiding leader.

“He has not discussed the development with anyone of us, but I believe he may honour the invitation in person or send a senior palace Chief who is capable of standing for him.”

However, phone calls put across to the chairman of the Anti-graft to throw more light on the matter proved abortive.

However, an insider in the commission who spoke on condition of animosity confirmed a letter was dispatched to the Emir inviting him to face the anti-graft, stressing there is no going back on the probe.
