President Muhammadu Buhari Speaks On Diaspora Voting

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, Feb. 11 thrilled Nigerians living abroad when he indicated support for Diaspora voting during elections. Mr President, however, stated that the National Assembly was required to pass relevant laws to give legal backing to the thought. Buhari joined leaders from the 55-member countries of the AU to attend the 33rd Ordinary Session of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Ethiopia tagged "Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa's Development."

 Mr President assured Nigerians of his administration's unshaken resolve to tackle all forms of criminality and battle insurgency in the country. He further appealed to Nigerians to accord full support and cooperation to security agencies, who are fully committed to defending and preserving the unity of the country.

Speaking on economic matters and ease of doing business in Ethiopia, Buhari mentioned that he had been briefed on the challenges being experienced by some Nigerian companies in the East African nation.
