The leader of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed LAWAN on Tuesday appealed to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as he was wasting in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Lawan was speaking in honour of Ekweremadu who was celebrating his birthday today. He noted that Ekweremadu is the longest serving principal officer of the Senate who has accumulated experiences over the years.
He advised him to assess political development and jump ship, stressing that power would shift to the South East in 2023 and he could be a viable option.
“Please don’t stay in PDP and waste. Look through events and come over. Mr President, distinguished Colleagues, the DSP today is the longest serving principal officer of the Senate who has acquired experiences over the years. ”
“With this, however, I want you to look through development and move over to us on this side because 2023 is there awaiting you. ”
He described Ekweremadu as a loyalist to the core, recalling how he served the former Senate President, David Mark. He maintained that Mark succeeded because of the support accorded him by the DSP.
