The leader of Arewa Youth Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima has called on President Muhbammadu Buhari not to consider restructuring the country, stressing that what the country needs now is not restructuring as being canvassed by some stakeholders. Shettima stated this in a chat with newsmen in Kaduna.
According to him;
“It is the issue for now because the unity of the country is being threatened. I am an advocate of restructuring but we need to consider timing. What we need do is to stabilize the country before we can sit down and talk of restructuring."
He explained that contrary to reports, the North was not against restructuring. The North is not against restructuring but it should not be done by this government. We need to wait for another government in 2019 before we can talk about restructuring. Nobody is afraid of restructuring from the north because we want it more than any other person.”
