The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is jittering over mass defection that hit its party in barely one month before the general election. The development has greeted PDP with cold feet as its former Niger state chairman Abdulrahman Enagi has defected alongside two former governorship aspirants, Ahmed Baka and Engr. Hanafi Sudan with their supporters in hundreds joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
In an effort to absorb the shock, PDP has asked party supporters to remain focus and refuse to be discouraged by action of those who did not mean well for the party. PDP described those who defected as moles in the party.
The PDP state chairman, Mr, Tanko Beji revealed the party was not moved by the series of defection that hits the party in the last week. He described the defectors as, “The defectors are good riddance to bad rubbish.”
Enagi, Baka, Sudan and the PDP state Treasurer, Ibrahim Beto and a onetime president of the Nigeria Olympic committee and former Minister of sport, Alhaji Sani Ndanusa, dumped the PDP recently.
According to Beji, he claimed those who dumped the Party are lone rangers who do not have mass followers in their various wards. He described, the former chairman, the governorship aspirant, the Treasurer as unpopular Abuja politicians who only pose in the party for their selfish reason.
