Following the Supreme Court judgment delivered on Wednesday, the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken over the party's national secretariat popularly known as Wadata Plaza.
Recall that the Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside the decision of a Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, which recognized Ali Mod Sheriff as the authentic National Chairman of the PDP.

The Court described Sheriff as engaging in forum shopping and displaying infantile desperation to cling to office at all cost. It thereafter recognized Makarfi as the authentic chairman of the party.
A visit to Wadata Plaza after the ruling indicates that the Makarfi-led Committee has already taken over secretariat. Already, pictures of the Committee members taking over the plaza have been posted on the party's social media handles including Twitter and Facebook.

A member of the Committee who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed that the Committee would hit the ground running as there was no time to waste. "there is no time to waste. Sheriff has set us back. But we are glad the apex Court has given us judgment. Tomorrow we will meet and fashion out modalities to strengthen our party" he added
