Kano State Traders Association Canvass Support for Buhari

A coalition of a group of Kano state Markets Associations has promised total support and loyalty to the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming 2019 General Election with a  solemn declaration that they will do everything possible to ensure his success in the polls.

 

According to the coalition which made the pledge during an interactive session on Sunday, 31st December 2018 with the Executive Secretary Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, vowed to mobilize the electorate with a view to ensuring that Buhari returns to power with a landslide victory. The chairman of the Coalition, Alhaji Uba Zubairu Yakasai, in his welcome remarks disclosed that the Coalition is the umbrella body of all the Market Associations in the nooks and crannies of the state.

Also, Yakasai commended the laudable initiatives of the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari, in the area of security and new policies for the creation of conducive environment for business development and expansion in the State and beyond. Many of the representatives of the Market Associations, who spoke during the interactive session, reaffirmed their commitment to support the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the coming 2019 elections. They equally, appealed to the Government to support the Traders who suffered a loss as a result of the fire and flood incidences in various markets across the State.

While appreciating the commitment by the Coalition of marketers, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who is also the Director General of the "One 2 Tell Ten", Buhari Support Group Movement (BSG), remarked that the essence of the dialogue was to identify the needs of the Traders with a view to forwarding them to the Federal Government for consideration. Bichi also assured the Traders that the Government is making elaborate arrangement to assist the victims of the inferno and other disasters in the State.

He further informed the traders that Buhari had a good intention for the country and its citizens and a vote for him would be a vote for the progress of the Nation. He added that Kano state was the home state of Buhari, being the state that has been giving him the highest votes in all his previous political sojourns. He disclosed that already a philanthropist had requested for the list of 50 petty traders from across the state, whose businesses collapsed, for support and lifeline so that they can return to their businesses.

Dr. Bichi also urged members of the Coalition to take advantage of the Federal Government’s business and investment opportunities initiated towards improving their business and commercial activities. He finally gave assurance that President Muhammadu Buhari is very much committed to the Nigerian project, promising a lot of goodies to consolidate the gains of democracy in the country.
