The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State Chapter has given former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, seven days to apologize to the party elders for inciting the party youth in the state. PDP spokesperson in the state, Taofik Gani, stated this in a statement that the vilification happened when Fayose gave advice that was capable of pitching the youth against their elders of the party in Lagos.
During the inauguration of the PDP Campaign committee of Lagos-East Senatorial by-election on Tuesday, Fayose told the Youth that for the party to emerge successful in Lagos, they must retire Chief Bode George, Former Deputy National Chairman into political retirement.
According to a statement by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, titled “Lagos PDP must retire Bode George to make progress” Fayose suggested that doing so would relieve the party from the shackles of such self-acclaimed Godfathers and make progress.
However, the spokesperson urged Fayose to stop being a negative role model for the youth of the party.
In his statement, “Fayose will be declared Persona non grata in all her indoor and outdoor activities from Monday 12th October 2020, unless he, Fayose, purges himself of the grave nuisance value arising from the unsolicited and divisive advice,”.
He said henceforth, Fayose should desist from making such utterances that are capable of heating the political space against the elders of the party or anything that could be counter-productive to the party in the region.
Gani added that “Only a sadist, mischief-maker or rooky politician, will decide to peel healing wounds, like creating more political foes, at a period very close to major elections.
“We are nearing very important elections in the state to take us into winning Lagos State in 2023 general elections.
“We need all togetherness and complimentary efforts possible of the old, young, male, female.
“It is thus shocking that a supposed leader would come to our state to ‘tear’ us apart rather than give positive and progressive uniting advice to us.
He finally threatened that “They will hold Fayose responsible for any future election loss in Lagos State and indeed the South West,”
