The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan said the National Assembly is under invasion by “many unknown and uninvited people”.
The echelon of the National Assembly had last week raised the similar alarm saying the assembly complex could be attacked by the terrorist.
Lawan made this statement yesterday while holding an emergency security meeting with top security officials at the assembly complex in Abuja.
He disclosed he had received a security report on the threat of attack to the National Assembly, saying he was worried and wanted the security to be beefed up around the National Assembly as a measure to deter the yet to be identified criminals.
Lawan warned that any security official found culpable would not be spared by the law.
Earlier yesterday, the House of Representative adopted a motion by Shehu Barwa Beji, urging the management of the assembly to install CCTV camera and a modern scanning system at strategic locations within the complex.
