No Plans To Reinstate Disbanded SARS – IGP

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has assured Nigerians that there is no plan to reinstate the disbanded S[ecial Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) into Nigeria Police. Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) made the disclosure in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, urging Nigerians to disregard reports of SARS reinstatement making rounds on media platforms.

Army Stops Futile Attempt By ISWAP To Attack Repentant Boko Haram Members

The latest strategy is not unconnected with the frustration of the group as top-ranking commanders and members denounce violent agitation to embrace peace in recent times.

IGP Appoints New CP, Deploys Special Forces To Anambra State

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has appointed Echeng Eworo Echeng as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) of Anambra State, replacing CP Tony Olofu. Force PRO, CP Frank Mba made this known in a statement on Tuesday, saying the IGP also directed the deployment of the NPF Special Forces to Anambra State to complement the ongoing Operation Restore Peace by the Nigeria Police in the state.

Police Arrest Dozens Of Shi’ite Members In FCT, Recover Exhibits

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command, yesterday, confirmed the arrest of dozens of suspected members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shi’ites who stormed the Gwarimpa area of the nation’s capital on Tuesday morning. The outlawed group was having a religious procession in the nation’s capital when they were intercepted by security to stop them because they had been causing “unnecessary hardship to motorists” along the Abuja-Kubwa expressway.
