Four Killed As Governor Fintiri's Convoy Crashes

Four persons have been reported dead from an auto crash involving the convoy of the Governor of Adamawa State Ahmed Fintiri, while on his way to Mubi for campaign engagement. It was stated that the accident occurred around Fadamareke, in Hong Local Government Area of the state, where a Toyota Hilux conveying a detachment of vigilantes crashed and is being linked to overspeeding while trying to maneuver a bend. Three lifeless bodies of occupants in the van that includes Bako Kaura, head of PDP’s informal security arm, and another victim identified as Adamu, Kaura’s biological son have been deposited at the mortuary of Hong Federal Medical Centre.

Aisha Buhari: NANS Set Monday 5th December For Nationwide Protest

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS headquarters has declared Monday, 5th December 2022 as a day they will stage a nationwide protest demanding the release of one of them, Aminu Mohammed, a student from Federal University Dutse who was arrested and sent to prison by Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Buhari over cyberbullying. NANS President, Usman Barambu, made this known today in a statement made available to the press, saying the protest will last until Mohammed is released from detention.

Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Suspended Indefinitely

The earlier resumption date announced for the Abuja-Kaduna train services by the Ministry of Transportation has been suspended indefinitely. The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo made this known during his tour of inspection to assess the redness of the rail services before a proper announcement could be made. Making a comment he said, it could be more than a week contrary to the earlier announced date of, 28th November 2022 as the official resumption date of the services the Minister added.

Russia/Ukraine War: President Buhari Calls For Tighter Border Security Around Lake Chad Region

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said weapons from the raging war between Russia and Ukraine are now slipping into the Lake Chad Basin region. Lake Chad region is an economically and socially integrated area in West and Central Africa traversing Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria. President Buhari, who said this at the 16th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), held at the Conference Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Buhari, said the situation which had heightened the proliferation of small arms and light weapons called for reawakening of the border security of the countries of the region. The event had Presidents and Heads of State of the six member-states in attendance, with the exception of President Paul Biya of Cameroon, who was represented by one of his ministers.

NIS Advises Nigerians Against Irregular Migration

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has advised Nigerians on the dangers associated with irregular migration, adding that it would sensitize Nigerians about the risks. This was disclosed on behalf of the Comptroller General (CG) of NIS, Isah Jere by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Tony Akuneme who stated that Nigerians planning to migrate should do so properly, so as not to waste their time and resources.
