NiMET Warns Nigerians Of Harmattan Hazards

The Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMET) has deemed it fit to sensitize the public on possible hazards to face in the Northern part of the nation at the commencement of the dry season popularly known as harmattan. NiMET has warned of the possibility of bird strikes due to the influx of migratory birds to the country from other parts of the world, flight delays, and cancellations. This was disclosed by the Director- General OF NiMET, Prof. Mansur Matazu on 2nd November b2022 in a forecast seminar that was made publicly available. The statement partly read, “Following weather report of observed movement of dust plumes from the source region (Niger and Chad) where dust-haze and haziness are prevalent, relatively low, visibility values are expected into the county within the next 24 hours; NiMET alerts the public of the possible commencement of the dry season otherwise called the harmattan season in most parts of the North.

Police Debunk Rumour Of Alleged Kano Community Attack

Kano state police command has debunked a rumour trending on social media that claimed terrorists invade a community in kano and unleashed a pogrom, saying the statement was not true and urging members of the public to go about their normal routine as security agencies are on top of their game. However, the police made some clarification that what some mischief makers spread as a terror attack was actually a communal clash that happened among some three communities in Rogo Local Government Area of the state sometime back in August 2022.

117 Irregular Nigerian Migrants Evacuated From Libya – FG

The Federal Government in collaboration with the international organization for Migration, IOM, yesterday evacuated about 117 irregular Nigerian migrants trapped in Libya. Similarly, the Nigerian Mission in Tripoli had last week evacuated 137 stranded Nigerians from the same country. This was disclosed by the Nigerian Ambassador to Libya, Amb Kabiru Musa, who is in charge of Nigerian Affairs in Libya while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN yesterday.

Abuja Terror Alert: FG Assures Nigerians Of Security & Safety

Following the Abuja terror alerts issued  last week by the United States (US) and other countries, the Federal Government (FG) on Monday assured Nigerians to continue their lawful activities because the county is secure and safe. This was made known on Monday by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd), immediately after the National Security Council emergency meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
