The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps Brigadier General Muhammed Kukah Fadah has been relieved from office by president Muahammadu Buhari about six months after assuming office. It was gathered that Fadah's removal was due to incompetence to handle the office he was appointed to oversee, hence he has been ordered to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the NYSC to head it in the interim pending the appointment of a substantive DG by Buhari. Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, whose office supervises the NYSC also confirmed Fadah’s sacking.
Dare responded to an inquiry from Arise TV on Friday with a ‘yes’ to the questions about the removed NYSC DG. Moreso, the NYSC director of press and public relations, Eddy Megwa confirmed the development but could not disclose the reason for Fadah's sack.
Fadah assumed office as NYSC DG in May 2022. He replaced Major General Shu’aibu Ibrahim as the 19th DG to hold the position.
