IGP Redeploys DIGs, Frank Mba,17 AIGS

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has approved the redeployment of DIG Hafiz M. Inuwa, mni, to head the Department of Logistics and Supply, and the posting of the recently promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, DIG Bala Ciroma, and DIG Emeka Frank Mba, mni, to head the Department of Training and Development and the Department of Research and Planning respectively. With the recent elevation, DIG Ciroma has become the supervising DIG for the Northeast, while DIG Mba assumes a supervisory role over the South-East Geo political zone. This comes less than 24 hours after Ciroma and Mba’s promotion from Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to DIG by the Police Service Commission).

Bulkachuwa Confession: NBA Writes ICPC, Demands His Prosecution

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA has formally requested the Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Offenses Commission, ICPC, and police to investigate and prosecute Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa for the perversion of justice. This followed his confession during a valedictory session of the National Assembly while winding down last week Saturday; the senator disclosed how he helped his colleagues secure justice in their favor when his wife, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa was serving as Appeal Court President.

Asari Dokubo Begs President Tinubu Not To Release Nnamdi Kanu

A Niger Delta leader, Asari Dokubo, has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu not to release the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu in the general interest of peace and stability in Nigeria. Dokubo stressed that releasing Kanu is rewarding criminality and rewarding gruesome murder of innocent people, adding he should face the law for the actions and instigations he has carried out. Dokubo disclosed this while addressing journalists after meeting with President Tinubu at Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday. Kanu, who is standing trial for terrorism, has been in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his re-arrest in 2021.

IGP Seals 17 LG Secretariats In Plateau

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has directed the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, to seal up 17 Local Government Area Council secretariats in the state. This is coming after the State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang okayed the suspension of council chairmen and councilors governing the affected lgs, due to financial misconduct that required investigation. This move was met with fierce opposition from the suspended officials, all members of the All Progressives Congress, who rejected their suspension and insisted on maintaining their roles.
