A Federal High Court in Borno has ordered for the release of no fewer than 313 suspected terrorists arrested by the military due to lack of evidence to convict the suspects. This was made known during the operational briefing to journalists by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Buba Edward, who added that the cases were prosecuted by the Department of Prosecution and the Federal Ministry of Justice.
He also stated that the suspected terrorists would be handed over to the government of Borno State for further action.
According to him, troops of Operation Hadin Kai recently neutralized 52 terrorists, arrested 137 suspected terrorists/kidnappers, rescued about 78 kidnapped hostages and recovered various types of arms and ammunition.
