Gas Explosion Kills Five In Lagos

Lagos has suffered yet another gas explosion that rocked Baruwa, Ipaja area of the state on Thursday morning throwing the residents into pandemonium. According to eyewitness, the incident happened at about 6am. The state emergency management agencies are yet to arrive the area at the time of filing this report. Five persons have reportedly lost their lives in the explosion while three persons were rescued and being hospitalized for further treatment.

The Acting Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, while commenting on the incident said the explosion, which was blamed on the generator set of the gas station which was still on occurred while an LPG tanker was in the process of discharging gas at the Best Roof Plant Station.

The incident that has claimed the lives of five persons has created panic as residents scamper for safety.
