A young man, aged 23 has been arrested by French Police over alleged plans to attack French President Emmanuel Macron at this year's July 14 Bastille Day parade. According to Reuters, the suspect who described himself as a ''nationalist" was arrested after expressing interest in a video game chat room, in acquiring a Kalashnikov weapon in order to attack a target.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was unemployed and diagnosed with mental health problems. He was arrested in 2016 for making comments perceived to be in support of terrorism.
The unnamed suspect was also reported to have also made scathing remarks about Blacks, Arabs, Jews and homosexuals.
This year's Bastille Day parade is expected to be attended by the United States President, Donald Trump.
