Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner Group Chief along with 9 other people has reportedly died in a plane crash. Unconfirmed reports from Russian state media claims the Wagner boss was listed among passengers on the flight. In June, Prigozhin led a failed mutiny against the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
Putin described him as a ‘traitor’ while analysts in the United States of America (USA) projected a possible assassination of the Wagner boss.
Wagner is a private military company with strong ties to the Russian government involved in various military actions including the recent Russia-Ukraine war.
The company has also allegedly been involved in various counter-terrorism operations in Africa.
