Nigerian legendary Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the organising committee said.
According to CAF, Kuti will perform the official 2019 AFCON song “Metgamaeen” alongside two other musicians from Egypt and Ivory Coast, Hakim and Dobet Gnahore.
Kuti will perform “Metgamaeen” (We Are Together) produced by synergy together on stage in Cairo, Egypt in English, while Hakim and Gnahore would perform in Arabi and French.
The competition set to commence on Friday will have host, Egypt play Zimbabwe in the opening match, while the Super Eagles will play Burundi on Saturday.
