Popular Kannywood Actor Aminu Bono Is Dead

Popular Kannywood actor and movie Director, Aminu Surajo Bono has died. Bono is said to have collapsed on Monday evening and was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors. His colleagues in the movie industry confirm the incident on Social media. Actor Ali Nuhu, in an Instagram post on Monday wrote: “May God have mercy on Aminu S Bono and make paradise your final abode.”

Another actor Babangida Bangis wrote “He wasn’t sick. We were meant to meet earlier, but after our phone call, I was notified that he collapsed and was transported to the hospital, where physicians confirmed his death.”

Bono has produced several movies including ‘Manyan Mata’, ‘Dan Gwamna’, ‘Nasamo Me Kahina’, ‘Alaqa’ and ‘Daukaka’.

Others are ‘Kawayen Amarya’, ‘Agola’, ‘Zamantakewa’ and ‘Na Hauwa’.

The deceased will be buried according to Islamic rites on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has paid his tribute to the late actor.

Ganduje who expressed shock at the sudden demise of the actor said it came at a time when the industry needed him the most.

Ganduje in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu and made available to press said, “Bono stands tall ahead of others in the entertainment industry in terms of commitment to preserve, and promote the socio-cultural values of the Hausa/Fulani heritage”.

“I want to use this time to identify and commiserate with his immediate family in particular, and Kannywood in general over the demise of one of the brightest brains in the industry, Ace movie Director, Aminu Bono.”
