An Irish chef, Alan Fisheran, owner of a Japanese restaurant has dethroned Hilda Baci, the previous holder of the longest cooking marathon in Guinness World Record (GWR). Recall that Guinness World Records confirmed Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey aka Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual after she cooked for 93 hours.

However, on Tuesday, Guinness World Records announced that Fisher had claimed the longest cooking marathon by an individual after he clocked in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than Hilda Baci.

This was revealed in a statement issued by GWR on their official website.

The statement reads, “Towards the end of the longest cooking marathon (individual) record attempt, Alan had to endure fatigue and sleepiness. “I peeled roughly 300 kg of potatoes during the cooking marathon. For the first few days, I would look forward to this each evening as it gave me a chance to sit down.”

Moreover, Alan broke two cooking-related GWR titles; the longest cooking marathon (individual) and the longest baking marathon (individual).
