Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule popularly known as Okey Bakassi has decried the worrisome abuse of illicit drugs in the entertainment industry. The popular Comedian made this known on Tuesday when he was featured as a guest on "The Gist", anchored by Emma Ugolee.

The programme also had in attendance, Olanrewaju Fasasi and Chinagorom Onuoha popularly known in the industry as Sound Sultan and African China respectively.

According to Okey Bakassi, over 70% of entertainers in Nigeria, especially Comedians, actors and actresses abuse psychoactive substances daily.

“Conservatively 70% of Nigerian Celebrities are on some sort of substance today. They have gone ballistic. You hear a lot of names- SK, Kush, Loud, etc. The names come everyday and you’re struggling to keep up with the nomenclature of it.”

He called on the relevant authorities to check the development to avoid adverse effect on the younger generation.
