In a bid to grow technology in Africa, America's multinational technology company, Microsoft has launched two pioneer Africa Development Centre (ADC) offices in Lagos, Nigeria and Nairobi, Kenya. The company said Africa possesses great innovations like Agritech, Fintech and plans to tap into it by employing 100 highly qualified engineers by the end of the year, and 500 by 2023.

The ADC offices will enable Microsoft to develop talents that would proffer solutions to local and global issues.

Also, the tech company is collaborating with universities with a view to designing curriculums for the next level of digital skills including Artificial Intelligence, mixed reality, application development and data science.

Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Micheal Fortin said the ADC is aimed at giving Africans the opportunity to work in their home country and still be connected to the global engineering and development organisation while working on technologies suitable for Nigeria and Kenya.
