According to Goal.com, Juventus full-back is set to reunite with Coach, Pep Guardiola, on a two-year deal after he secured an exit from the Serie A side to Manchester City.
Reports emerged yesterday that Alves was ready to cancel his contract in Turin to move to the Premier League.
Chelsea were said to be interested but City looks to have beaten their rivals to an agreement with the 34-year-old.
Alves met with Juve officials on Monday afternoon and decided on his next move.
City were willing to pay around £5m for the Brazilian but he will now make the switch on a free transfer, according to Goal.
Alves is expected to earn around £85,000-a-week at the Etihad.
City are in desperate need of adding a right-back to the team following the sale of Pablo Zabaleta and the release of Bacary Sagna.
Alves has enjoyed a glittering career, winning the Champions League three times, La Liga on six occasions and Serie A as well.
But he has never tested himself in the Premier League.
Chelsea were also interested in Alves as last season they played Victor Moses in an unfamiliar right wing-back role.
