Nigeria's U20 girls, Falconets have qualified for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup billed to take place in France later in the year. The qualification followed the thrashing of South Africa's Basetsana 6-0 on Saturday. A brace each from Gift Monday, Rasheedat Ajibade and Anam Imo was all the Falconet needed to book a place in the tournament.

Nigeria’s Under-20 women’s team, the Falconets will take of the Basetsanas of South Africa on Saturday in Benin to book their place in 2018 U20 Women’s World Cup in France. The Basetsana crashed 0-2 to the two –time World Cup silver medallists in the first leg in Polokwane two weeks ago and know they have a mountain to climb against Chris Danjuma’s maidens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Alanyaspor six months after making a summer switch to Greek club Olympiacos from Fenerbahce.

The 30-year-old striker has also been linked with a loan move to Istanbul Başakşehir.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has signed a three year contract with Thomas Dennerby to coach the Super Falcons. According to a statement by the federation on Thursday, Dennerby’s contract enables him to come along with an assistant, a fellow Swedish, Jorgen Peterson.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is committed to the club - but did not rule out the possibility of managing Real Madrid one day.

Pochettino has been linked with the La Liga side, who are struggling under Zinedine Zidane this season.

Asked about the Real job by a BBC reporter, Pochettino said: "My commitment is massive [to Spurs]. I am working like I am going to be here forever.

Former Holland boss Bert van Marwijk will lead Australia at the World Cup in Russia. The 65-year-old Dutchman, who took his own nation to the final of the 2010 tournament in South Africa, where they were beaten by Spain, succeeds Ange Postecoglou. Van Marwijk secured Saudi Arabia's qualification for this summer's tournament in Russia - competing against Australia in the process - but left his role as manager after failing to agree a new contract.
