Barely few months after the conduct of the 2019 general elections, politicians are already holding conversations on the conduct and probable outcome of the 2023 presidential elections.

One of those politicians is the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu who says the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, would take over power in the South East in 2023, following the quantum and quality of support and commitment the party is currently receiving from its members.

Onu who stated this on Sunday when the Conference of 2019 South East APC House of Assembly Candidates visited his country home in Ebonyi State to thank him for his support to them in the last general elections, lamented that though the party failed to make remarkable impact in the last elections, the results were far better than those obtained in 2015.

“With the level of support and vibrancy you all are showing to this great party, we believe that we shall be better by 2023. APC will win elections massively in the South East zone.

“It is obvious that the present government wants the best for the citizens of this country. But some people are yet to believe that. They are not even seeing the efforts he is making in terms of boosting our infrastructure.”

The Minister said though the current administration came on board when oil price in the international market had crashed, the President managed the economy efficiently and has recorded monumental progress in infrastructural development, security and education among others.

“There is an improvement in the infrastructural sector of the country, like construction of roads and maintenance of existing ones and even the waterways, all of which contribute to the growth of the economy.”
