The Action Democratic Party (ADP) on Thursday declared that the party was the real third force being clamored for ahead of the 2019 general elections. The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yemi Adetoyinbo stated this in Akure the Ondo state capital during an interview with newsmen. He said the party was ready to take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), starting with the Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
“The meeting was presided over by the Southwest zonal chairman and deputy national chairman, Tayo Sarumi; all state chairmen from the six southwest states and other executives were also in attendance.
“ADP is a brand new party in Nigeria which has not been tainted. It is a credible alternative to take over from APC. Being the largest party in Nigeria today, ADP is the authentic Third Force.
“Before former President Olusegun Obasanjo came out with his own idea of Third Force, people knew that ADP had been playing that role. PDP ruled the country for 16 years but nothing significant came out of it in terms of fundamentally addressing issues that affect us as a people.
“APC rode to power on the mantra of change. Since they deceived the people of this country into voting for them, things have been changing for the worse. So, ADP is the only credible alternative to the two parties,” he said.
