The Nasarawa Police Command has disclosed that 4000 officers and men of the Force have been deployed ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to the state on Tuesday. The Commissioner of Police, Beloo Ahmed who disclosed this in Lafia, the state capital while briefing newsmen hinted that the Command had put in place all necessary measures to ensure a hitch-free visit.
He also explained that 3000 personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have also been deployed along with other sister agencies to assist the Police. He appealed to residents in the area to be law abiding as his men would deal decisively with anyone caught breaking the law.
“I appeal to members of the public to be law abiding as they come out massively to welcome the president to the state. I also urge you to cooperate with the security agencies as they discharge their duties,’’ he added.
Vigil360 had reported that President Buhari would visit the state to inaugurate some projects of the state government. The projects include the Comprehensive Special School for the Physically Challenged in Lafia and headquarters of the State Fire Service, also in Lafia.
Other projects billed for inauguration are: Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Centre in Kwandere near Lafia, Muhammadu Buhari International Market, Karu, and the flag-off of construction of cargo airport in Lafia.
