The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of the deadline for the submission of expression of interest and nomination forms of all aspirants contesting in the 2023 general elections. The ruling party disclosed that the deadline for the submission of nomination forms is now Friday, May 13, 2022.

According to reports, the extension was a result of some aspirants picking nomination forms late due to the distractions of the Easter and Sallah holidays.

A statement by the party reads in part: “Following the new submission date, APC has fixed Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15 for screening of all aspirants that have returned their duly completed and signed nomination and expression of interest forms to the APC secretariat”.

Aspirants are required to ensure that APC delegates from across the country sign some sections of the forms prior to submission to the APC Secretariat.

The party also reviewed its timetable for primary elections and stated that the primary for governorship is now May 20, the State House of Assembly is scheduled for May 22 while the Senate and House of Representatives are now May 24 and May 25 respectively.

The date for presidential primaries is still scheduled for May 30 to June 1.
