The Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye says he will make himself available to the police today (Tuesday). Senator Melaye made this known on Tuesday through his verified twitter handle. His tweet read "I will make myself available to the police today. My resolve to speak the truth and defend the poor masses of NIGERIA is Total. We shall overcome!!!"
Recall that on Monday, Dino was arrested by officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on his way to Morocco for an official assignment. The officials had claimed that his arrest was 'based on instruction'.
The Senator was however released in a controversial manner with fellow senator, Shehu Sani confirming that he was 'now back home'.
Shortly after his released, Senator Melaye disclosed that 30 armed Mobile Policemen had besieged his Maitama residence, preventing people from accessing or exiting the area.
Confirming the presence of the policemen, the Police had said he was wanted for questioning even though the matter in question was still pending in court.
Meanwhile some senators have called for unconditional withdrawal of policemen from his residence.
