The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has thrown its weight behind Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, AKA Tompolo after securing the contract for pipeline surveillance, saying he is just like any other Nigeria that can secure a contract with the Federal government. The group noted that it has resolved to support every government initiative that is pro-Nigerians as long as it is in the interest of the general citizen's welfare.

The president of the group, Comrade Isah Abubakar, made the statement today in Kaduna saying, “Tompolo as a Nigerian, with Private Company rendering security services, deserves any favor he gets from the government to ensure the protection of pipelines.”

The group revealed that they were disappointed at how some vested interest groups were threatening protests and calling on the federal government to revoke the contract of the pipeline surveillance given to Tompolo as if he is not a Nigerian.

The group called on the attention of security agencies in the land to ensure that such mischief makers are not allowed to threaten the government at will with their misadventure out of political mischief.

Meanwhile, the group says the federal government has the exclusive right to give the contract to any Nigerian that deserves it as long as due process was followed and pipeline surveillance was one of them.
