An unspecified number of persons have become trapped after a building collapsed on them at Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja on Friday. The three-storey building, which was still under construction is said to be a new hotel located specifically near Freedom Christ Mission Church, on Hamza Abdullahi Street, off Gado Nasco Road, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council.
It was gathered that officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have commenced rescue operations at the scene of the incident.
Eye witnesses have revealed that some injured persons, who were workers at the site have been rescued and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
Another eyewitness is said to be blaming the collapse on low-quality building materials.
