A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture to the Federal Government, the property known as Flat 7b No 16, Osborn Road Ikoyi, Lagos.

It is the property linked to the dismissed Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke, where the EFCC recovered the sums of $43,449,947.00, €27,800 and N23,218,000.00 in April.

The Nigerian government is to investigate the alleged deaths of 26 Nigerian girls on the Mediterranean Sea. This was in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, released in Abuja, late on Tuesday. The statement, signed by spokesman, Dr. Tope Elias-Fatile, said that the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been in constant touch with its mission in Rome to ascertain the veracity of the report.

The Nigerian Navy has launched a military operation codenamed 'Operation Octopus Grip" in Delta state as part of efforts to frustrate attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta region. The operation may not be unconnected with the recent suspension of ceasefire by the notorious Niger Delta Avengers.

The move may not be unconnected with the announcement by Niger Delta Avengers that an earlier ceasefire deal declared last year has been suspended, paving way for possible resumption of hostilities.
