Dr. Comfort Adokwe, a lecturer at the Nasarawa State University, who was abducted on Sunday, regained her freedom. This was confirmed by Dr. Comfort's brother, Timothy Adokwe.
It was reported that the lecturer who doubled as the Deputy Director, Gender Studies was abducted by gunmen in her residence in Angwan Jaba Keffi.
Timothy said, "Yes, she was released around 8:30,”
However, Timothy lauded the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian army for their professional approach, and involvement that ensured the release of his sister safely without any harm, saying," though they could not go closer to avoid any harm to Comfort, they monitored via satellite."
“Actually, the police were not there, but the military and the DSS were involved, but at the outskirts, because they tried to monitor from their satellite and know the location, but you know, they can’t just enter directly,” he said.
Adokwe said his sister has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for a check-up, stressing that his sister is okay and has reunited with her family.
