FG Raises Health Workers Allowances

The Federal Government has approved the upward review of hazard allowance for non hospice based health professionals in the country and also approves #25,000 peculiar allowances for doctors with effect from June 1, 2023. This was made known in different circulars dated July 26, 2023, and signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta.

The circular for the non hospice professionals was titled, “Review of Hazard Allowance for Non-Hospital-Based Agencies on the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure and the Consolidated Health Salary Structure.”

As well, the circular for the Doctors captioned, “Accoutrement Allowance for Medical and Dental Doctors in Hospitals, Medical Centre’s, and Clinics in Federal MDAs.”

The non-hospital-based agencies includes the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), among others.
