Nigeria has been ranked third by the United Nations Children Funds (UNICEF) among the countries of the world where people still defecate in open spaces.

This was made known by the UNICEF Chief of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Nigeria Mr Zaid Jurji, on Wednesday in Katsina, when he paid courtesy visit to Gov. Aminu Masari.

According to Jurji the deteriorating situation of sanitation in Nigeria is alarming, adding that Nigeria ranks third worldwide when it comes to open defecation as one-third of the population practise such.

Health workers under the aegis of Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) at the Federal Medical Centre, (FMC), Owerri embarked on a protest within the hospital premises on November 21.

The Jigawa State Government said it has treated 57, 657 cases of acute child malnutrition in the state in 2017.

A Group of American scientist have found a new possibility to cure leukemia, the results of a new study showed on Tuesday. Leukemia is a deadly disease that knocks down patients as young as only seven years old. In the study published in Journal Nature Medicine, the group of scientists from Stanford University and National Institute of Health found that a molecule, called “CD22”, could serve as a potent target for the killer cells of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a common childhood cancer.

Five people have been confirmed dead in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State after consuming the regular local gin popularly called 'ogogoro.' According to Punch, the deceased had between November 14 and 17 2017 visited one Uwadiegwu Eze's shop to buy and consume the local gin.
