Coronavirus Officially Named COVID-19. The fast-spreading Coronavirus disease which has now affected about 42,000 people in China has an official name 'Covid-19'. The Chief of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made this known saying " We now have a name for the disease and its Covid-19". 

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian says the cure for the deadly Corona Virus has been found. The Ambassador made this claim while addressing a press conference in Abuja yesterday, saying the Chinese scientists were working hard to develop a vaccine for the virus and have gotten a breakthrough, assuring that the epidemic will soon be a thing of history latest in the next two weeks.

The University of Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State has reportedly witnessed an outbreak of Lassa Fever.  Punch reports that a student of the University has reportedly been diagnosed with the fever. The report quoted a source as saying that the student had been ferried to a Lassa fever centre in Ebonyi State. "The student was on admission at the Unizik Clinic Awka for some days.

The World Health Organisation says eating garlic and regularly rinsing the nose with a saline solution will not guard against coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV). Information obtained from WHO’s website on Monday dispelled various myths and rumours surrounding the 2019-nCoV that could potentially harm the public’s health, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has on Sunday revealed that Five cases of the deadly infectious Coronavirus have been confirmed in the United States. Nancy Messonnier, Head of respiratory disease, CDC made the disclosure in a press conference, saying the five infected are in California, Arizona, Illinois and Washington State.
