The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) said on Tuesday that it is optimistic on the outcome of the Public Service Negotiating Council meeting that is scheduled for 4th September 2019, and will accept in good faith its outcome.

Mr Ayuba Wabba, the NLC National Chairman disclosed this on the sidelines of the inauguration of the International Lawyers Assisting Workers in Abuja.

Previously, organised labour in Nigeria has been in loggerhead with the federal government over unresolved negotiation on the implementation of the new national minimum wage signed into law on 18th April 2019 by President Buhari.

Wabba disclosed once a reasonable decision is arrived upon, the NLC will embrace it in good faith and support it.

In his statement, “Whatever will be the outcome, we hope it will be favourable but where they need to take decision, the labour centre will support whatever decision they take.’’
