Yesterday was 2018 International Mother's Day, a day set aside in recognition of women. While many celebrities took to the social media to celebrate their mothers by posting messages and pictures, Nollywood actress, Maryam Charles took her time to share the pains of mothers and families of the recently abducted Dapchi schoolgirls.
The actress took to her Instagram page to write about the feelings of the mothers and herself as a woman. She also celebrated all women working to support their families in one way or the other.
Her post read;
“We celebrated International Women's Day, but for mothers in Dapchi, Yobe state, the day was bad. Their children are still missing having said to be taken by Boko Haram. I am heart broken by this and I can't even imagine what they are going through at the moment.
I really do hope they are found soon. To all women working to provide a better life for themselves and their family, don't stop, keep striving, keep working. The voices that seek to stop you may be many but, don't listen. You are strong, you are brave. I really hope our government is doing all they can to bring the girls back home because every minute wasted is a shame on our great nation. #nollywood #nigeria #yobe #bokoharam #actress #MaryamCharles”
