The Lagos State Magistrate Court has issued a restraining order dated 31st January 2018, prohibiting the broadcast of Tonto Dikeh’s highly anticipated reality TV show, King Tonto, by Linda Ikeji TV. The TV show also sets to feature her son, king Andrea.
The court order was necessitated owing to the suit instituted by Tonto's Ex-hubby Churchill Olakunle, who fights to protect his son’s image, which he feels is being exploited for financial gains and without his permission.
Churchill argued that his move was in consonance with the Lagos State Child Rights Law and aimed at protecting his son, King from a production that basically has adult content.
The court sat January 31, and issued the injunction, stating that it is “restraining Ms Tonto Dikeh and Linda Ikeji Media from airing, showing, disseminating or broadcasting, either through television, blogs or the Internet the person, name, Face, image, likeness or picture of King Andrea Omodayo Igo Churchill, in the King Tonto Reality TV Show produced by Linda Ikeji Media pending the hearing of the originating motion in the suit.”
The order also stated that “Such reality show exposes the life and times of the 1st Applicant, who is a minor, at a time when he cannot make a decision for himself, this exposure is prejudicial to his growth and welfare of his son, the 1st Applicant.”
