Former Mr. Nigeria turned Nollywood actor, Emmanuel Ikubese has added his voice to the trending idea of ladies proposing top men in a development that tend to be upturning the traditional African culture of men seeking the hands of a woman in marriage. Speaking recently in an interview with HipTV, the actor said it was not proper for a lady to propose to a man, stressing that it would never happen to him.
According to him
“I do not think it is right for a lady to propose to a man. Come on! If you propose to a man, are you going to see his parents? Pay the groom price? Let us don’t turn the bible upside down. Let us follow the bible on what the bible says let your man find you, propose to you, take you to see his parents, pay the bride price and all of those things that is supposed to be done until you become his wife”
His interview is coming few weeks after a lady was left devastated at the Ikeja shopping mall after she was turned down by a man she proposed to publicly. The viral video of the incident showed how the lady went down on her kneel with a ring in her hand as she gesture to the man to accept the proposal.
The man who appeared embarrassed turned her down and after assisting her up, walked away.
