Bobrisky Appeal Against Sentence

Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser, has filed a notice of appeal on Monday to challenge the maximum six-month sentence given to him by a Federal High Court in Lagos.  Bobrisky, who was convicted of currency mutilation and abuse of the naira, currency mutilation and abuse of the naira,  is urging the appellate court to set aside the sentence and release him.

Junior Pope: Police Recovers Three More Bodies

The Anambra State Police Command revealed on Friday, that it recovered the three remaining bodies of the victims of a boat mishap that claimed the life of popular Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, better known as Junior Pope, on Wednesday along the coastine of River Niger. The latest information was made public in a press statement by the state police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga. According to Ikenga the Marine Police of the Anambra State Command recovered the two bodies on Thursday, April 11, 2024, while the last one was washed in by the tide this morning. "All the bodies have been deposited in the hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been notified of the recovery." Ikenga said.

Nathaniel Bassey Petitioned Police Boss Over Paternity Allegations, Defamation

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, over recent allegations on fathering the son of his colleague, Mercy Chinwo. The singer, in a petition filed by his lawyers, Peter Abraham, Uche Matthew, Gbenga Agunloye, and Anthony Abia, asked the IGP to investigate and prosecute four social media users Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, Terrence Ekot, and DJ Spoiltkid over criminal defamation and cyberstalking. The four suspects alleged that Bassey was the biological father of Mercy’s six-month-old son. They made the allegations on their social media accounts when Mercy and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa, unveiled their son’s identity on social media on 29 March 2024. Mr Ejike’s post read, “This Mercy Chinwo’s child she was hiding after giving birth, but the truth is that this baby looks exactly like singer Nathaniel Bassey. Nothing anybody wants to reason with me oh. This child is Nathaniel Bassey’s Baby. Maybe a secret away match occurred; otherwise, how can we make empirical sense of this.”

Reason Bobrisky and His Cohorts Cannot Be Arrested – Police

Following a trend of global cross-gender activities and a call by some concerned Nigerians over moral decadence that comes with the package, the Nigeria Police has opened up on why the Force cannot arrest crossdressers in Nigeria. During an interview with Channels TV yesterday, the police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has revealed why the Nigerian Police are constrained in making a move to arrest people like, Idris Okunneye, aka Bobrisky and his likes because it is a very tricky situation.
