Another Nigerian Chef, Adeola Set To Break Guinness Record, Begins 150hrs Cooking Marathon

A talented Nigerian Chef, Adeyeye Adeola, has dared the Guinness world record as she sets out to cook for 150hrs, first of its kind in the remarkable cooking competition. Tagged cook-a-thon, Adeola sets on her journey yesterday, Friday, 30th June, 2023, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state and has set Thursday, July 6 as her final day in the kitchen.

This is the third chef daring in Nigeria after Hilda Baci , in Lagos, cooked for 100 hour to receive an award, followed by chef, Adeparusi Damilola, AKA chef Dammy, break the record by going an extra mile of 120hrs, in Ekiti state, then here comes Adeola. 

Although, Hilda Baci currently holds the world Guinness world record for the longest cooking marathon, Chef Dammy of Ekiti state is yet to be recognised by the award giving body for her 120hrs cooking marathon. 

Baci break her record in Lagos state from Thursday, May 11 to Monday, May 15, during which she cooked for a straight 100hrs nonstop, displaying 100 pots of food over four days. 

In an official statement on its website, the Guinness World record confirmed Hilda Bassy Effiong, popularly called Hilda Baci, as its record holder for an individual cooking marathon with an impressive time of 93hrs and 11 minutes to be precise. 

The Guinness world record on its site said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.” 

Meanwhile, Adeola 150hrs cook-a-thon if finally recognised will ditch Hilda Baci record for an individual cooking marathon set. 

Nigerians are anxiously waiting for the outcome of Chef Adeola hoping a set another pace in the individual cooking marathon of Nigerian chefs in recent time.
