NIS: Automated Passport Applications Set To Commence January 8

Personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Wednesday began training ahead of the automated passport applications which is projected to commence on Monday, January 8. This was made known on Wednesday in a post released on the official handle of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.


According to his post, “Today, I declared open the training on automated passport application for Passport Control Officers and Enrolment Officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

“With the commitment and dedication displayed by officers of the Service, launching of the automation process on Monday, January 8, 2024 is possible.”

The automated passport application is expected to end the delay in international passport issuance, amongst other benefits.
