Organised Labour on Monday said it has presented fresh demand for the new National Minimum Wage for workers to the tripartite committee earlier set up by the Federal Government. The General Secretary, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, who disclosed this in an interview in Abuja, said the earlier demand by labour, which was presented two years ago, had been overtaken by the present economic realities in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday challenged the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to name the three persons he claimed to have stolen the sum of $3bn under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration. The party in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan also called on the Vice President to make the names available to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation and prosecution.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said it remitted N49.7 billion to the Federal Government in the first quarter of 2018. Mr Tony Ojobo, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs said in a statement on Thursday that the remittance was in compliance with the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2007 (FRA 2007).

The Federal Government says it has spent a total of N4.3tn to service the country’s debt obligations to local and foreign debtors between January 2015 and September 2017. According to reports obtained from the Budget Office on Friday, the figures are computed from the quarterly budget implementation report. From the report, it was gathered that the sum of N1.06tn was used to service debt in 2015.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, governors and Ministers are to inaugurate multi-billion naira projects in Zamfara state as part of the 7th Anniversary of Governor Abdul’aziz Yari‘s administration, NAN reports. The chairman of the anniversary committee, Alhaji Lawal Liman, disclosed this at a press conference in Gusau on Wednesday. He explained that the 109 projects comprising hospitals, roads, schools are expected to be inaugurated during the ceremonies

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday confirmed that MTN Group had finally commenced discussions with the commission on its proposed 500 million dollars Initial Public Offering (IPO). According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) a senior management staff of SEC who pleaded anonymity confirmed the development in Lagos noting that MTN had commenced discussion with the commission on the IPO.
