Chelsea Football Club has reportedly approved £70m for the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. Morata who was initially linked with a move to Old Trafford is billed to replace Diego Costa at Stanford Bridge. Real Madrid had earlier rejected Manchester United's £52.4m bid for the 24 year old striker.

The sensational striker is keen to move away from Madrid in order to get regular playing time. Morata managed to start only 14 league matches last season, making most of his appearances from the bench.

He is believed to be Antonio Conte's first choice striker, although the EPL Coach of the year had also indicated interest in the signing Belgium born Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku. With £70m approved by Chelsea owner, Morata's deal may be announced any moment from now.
