Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane has hit out at the negativity that surrounds news about Real Madrid and said it is only because it sells better. The Los Blancos have dropped to 16 points off leaders Barcelona in LaLiga, albeit with a game in hand, and produced another disjointed performance in the Copa del rey in midweek against second tier Numancia as they drew at home but had done enough in the away leg to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of weekend encounter, Zidane said;

"I am tired of hearing that Real Madrid are bad, it is easy to say that everything is bad but you know that everything is not negative here. It is great to speak in a negative way about Real Madrid as it sells better."

He said it was important for the squad to focus on improving and disregard growing criticism from all quarters.

"What we have to do is not listen to what they say. All that they say about Real Madrid is negative and that is not right, I do not see it that way. The situation is what it is and we need to look at the positive. We are still going in all the competitions."

Speaking on their next opponent, Leganes in the next round of the cup, Zidane said Madrid will not be expecting an easy ride.

"Leganes will be difficult, and the good thing is that we will not be going out of Madrid. Whoever we face, we are Madrid and all the opposition will make it difficult for us."
