Eto'o Elected President of Cameroon FA

Samuel Eto’o has been elected president of Cameroon football federation after amassing 43 votes to defeat closet rival and incumbent president Seidou Mbombo Njoya who received 31 votes.

The former Cameroonian international who announced his intention to run for the post on September 22 stated at that time that it was time to “launch the reconstruction of Cameroonian soccer”.

Speaking after his victory, Eto’o said: “I’ll be remembering today as one of the proudest moments of my life. I’m deeply grateful to be elected as the new president of Fecafoot.

“Every single vote represents the energy and ambition of our football family to take our beloved sport to a level we’ve never seen before. Let’s get to work.”
